This is the heart-wrenching story of Clive Kunder, the young co-pilot aboard the Air India flight that tragically crashed on June 12, 2025.
First Officer Clive wasn’t just any pilot—he was a gifted and passionate aviator who trained in India and France, amassing over 1,100 hours of flight experience.
While still working his way toward the captain’s seat, Clive’s disciplined , humility, and unwavering dedication to flying left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
An only child, Clive was raised by his mother—a former flight attendant—who gave up everything to see her son succeed.
She poured her love and sacrifices into his future, and when Clive began flying internationally with Air India, it was a dream come true. She was proud. So proud.
But just months into his promising career, that dream was tragically cut short.
On June 12, 2025, Air India Flight AI-171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, departed Ahmedabad, bound for London Gatwick with 242 people onboard.
Moments after takeoff, the crew issued a mayday. Within minutes, the plane went down.
Only one passenger survived.
Clive Kunder was among the 241 souls who perished.
His parents, who were in Sydney at the time, are now preparing to return to India to bring home the body of their only child—a future taken too soon, a life that had just begun to bloom.
May his soul rest in Peace.
