A young boy was arrested in Kebbi State after he allegedly pretended to be deaf for about a year so he could secretly gather and pass information to kidnappers.



One Abuzaidu Abubakar Yari, disclosed this in a Facebook post on Monday, March 2, 2026.



According to Yari, after the suspected informant was arrested, he confessed that he and two others were sent to spy on people in the Makera Gandu area of Birnin Kebbi.<br><br><br>



The boy said they were taught sign language that they will use to communicate, though he is originally from Niger State.
Yari warned the public to be cautious of strangers in their communities.<br><br><br>
