Read more: Students of the University of Port Harcourt, on Monday, held a solemn procession in honour of Miss Zalmon Beatrice Ebirien, a Pre-degree and Certificate student who lost her life in a tragic road accident on July 28.


The candlelight event, held on campus, brought together dozens of students in a moment of silence, prayers, and tributes to their late colleague, who was among the victims of the fatal crash at Rumuokoro–Eliozu road. Zalmon Beatrice was reportedly onboard a commercial bus that collided with a trailer, killing her and other victims The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Owunari Abraham Georgewill, addressed the gathering, urging students to remain strong and find comfort in the love and support within the Uniport community.
