Read here: BENUE APC MOURNS THE PASSING OF GLADYS, DESCRIBES HER AS A VIRTUOUS AND COMMITTED WOMAN. The Benue State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs. Gladys Zi, a cousin sister to His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State.


In a condolence message signed by the APC State Chairman, Chief Dr. Benjamin Omale, on behalf of the Caretaker Committee Members, the party described the death of Mrs. Gladys as painful, shocking, and a significant loss not only to her immediate family, but also to the APC and the Benue State Government at large.


The party fondly recalled the commitment, dedication, resilience, cooperation, and unwavering support of the late Gladys to Governor Alia, the party, and the Benue State Government, right from the days of the campaigns through the elections and into the two years of Governor Alia’s administration.


The party further described Gladys as a virtuous, committed, and indefatigable woman who lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation. As a very close cousin and childhood playmate of His Excellency, whom the Governor greatly trusted for her intellectual abilities and potential, the passing of Gladys has, according to the party, created a significant vacuum for Governor Alia, the APC family, and the Benue State Government as a whole.


Chief Omale, while acknowledging that death is an inevitable journey for all humanity, prayed that God forgives the shortcomings of the late Gladys, grants her gentle soul eternal rest, and gives her immediate family, Governor Alia, and all relatives the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.


In a mark of honour and respect for the deceased, the APC State Chairman, Chief Omale, led members of the APC Unified Caretaker Committee to a wake in honour of Mrs.


Gladys Zi on the evening of 2nd July, 2025. The wake-keep was also attended by Head of Service,Accountant General, Honourable Commissioner for water resources amongst other top government functionaries.
