Bandits have released Yakubu Dada, a retired civil servant, from Niger State, who was abducted alongside his youngest wife, Lami, along Kontagora Road in Niger State on October 31, 2024.
DailyTrust reports that Dada was freed on Monday, June 2, 2025, after his family paid an additional ransom but his beautiful wife could not make it as she passed away in their hands.
Confirming his release, Dada's eldest wife, Maimuna, said that the family had sold almost all their belongings, including their house, two cars, beds, televisions, and other valuables, to raise the ransom.
May her soul rest in Peace.
