Two years after our wedding, I relocated to join my husband in Canada. We have 3 lovely kids, but the workload was overwhelming, and we hardly saw each other. Fortunately, I landed a better job, which gave me a bit more free time.
My best friend visited us often and, while we were chatting one day, she mentioned seeing my husband with a Jamaican lady.
She advised me to stay alert.
I thanked her for the tip. Soon after, I noticed my husband excusing himself to take certain calls. He also started telling me he had to put in extra hours at work. Things weren't adding up, and I began to suspect something was off about his movements and explanations.
Our relationship grew strained. We quarreled more frequently, and for the first time in years, we went days without speaking after a particularly heated argument.
In the heat of the moment during another argument, my husband shouted, "I know all you do when you're at work, thanks to your friend who keeps me updated.
After all I do—providing for you, taking care of everything, and still making time for you even when I'm exhausted—how could you?" I turned to my husband and said, "But Karan told me you're dating that Jamaican lady you introduced me to at your workplace.
If you aren't cheating, how did she know?" He replied: “ Are you seriously asking me that? Remember the day I introduced you two, Karen was also there with you.
Why would I introduce her to you if I was cheating with her? Pls give me some credit, I’m smarter than that”.
Realising that my friend was the root of our problems, we exchanged phones to read the chats and conversations she had with each of us. I asked my husband, "Why is she so bent on destroying our marriage?"He replied, "I'm the prize.
She wants me. You don't realise my full value. I'm every woman's dream.”
I retorted, "You do love to hype yourself up." He said, "Just look at me. I can take care of a woman, protect her, and satisfy her in bed. She wan send you go street." We laughed, and decided to set her up.
A week later, my husband invited my friend over to the house. We had planned for him to support whatever she said or wanted all through the week. She fell for it.
She made her move on my husband, taking off her top, and that's when I walked in. She almost collapsed from shock.
I thought she would have guessed that something was off since my husband invited her to our home but greed won't allow her to think straight.
We humiliated her and sent her away from our home and our lives. We warned the kids about her and told them to be careful with people.
Now, my only friends are my husband and myself.
